Seamless flow from dune to hall
The DUINHal, the commercial heart of area development DUIN was officially and festively opened Sept. 17th of this year.
According to the zoning plan, it had to be a 365-day attractive concept for residents and visitors. A beating heart, providing vibrancy in a new urban part. A mix of hospitality, retail and leisure makes DUINhal that place.
Duin represents the transformation of a wet polder into a convincing dune landscape in the southwestern tip of Flevoland facing Amsterdam.
The DUINhal houses a combination of 7000m2 of hospitality and retail. Claessens Erdmann was at the base of the concept and architecture up to and including the preliminary design of the building that seems to completely merge and seamlessly blend into the dune landscape. The architects at Klunder in Rotterdam managed the execution.
With retailers such as PLUS Supermarket and VandenBerg Surf & Snow, a restaurant and a takeaway counter for visitors to the nearby beach and cooking studio, DUIN is an attractive place for residents and consumers.
