Sparkx Antwerp: designing a new sports experience.
Sparkx is opening its third location in Belgium. Following Hasselt and Ghent, Antwerp Schelle now has a 5,000 square meter ‘sportainment park’ with more than fifty sports attractions under one roof.
For the owners, Sparkx Belgium fits into a broader vision: creating social added value through sports and games as a connecting factor, across all layers of society. That is exactly the kind of ambition we like to build on.

Our design
As interior designers of the Sparkx concept, we worked on creating a spacious environment that combines sports, games, and social interaction. From the layout of the attractions to the design of the catering facilities and changing rooms, from the routing through the building to the choice of colors and materials: every element contributes to an accessible and playful sports experience.
The park offers space for indoor horse riding, virtual Formula 1 racing, ice hockey, and dozens of other activities.
Strategy as a starting point
The choice of Antwerp Schelle fits in with Sparkx's growth strategy, which proves with its concept that sports can be widely accessible. The locations in Hasselt and Ghent attract a diverse audience: from young to old, experienced athletes to curious visitors. This diversity formed the starting point for our design choices.
With Antwerp as its largest and most innovative location to date, Sparkx is taking the next step. The physical environment supports the ambition: to create a place where everyone can exercise, discover, and have fun together.
But we are not standing still. The next Sparkx is already in the making: Nieuwegein, the Netherlands. With 7,500 m², it will be the largest sports entertainment center in Europe.
