Create a conversion of our retail formula into Sligro headquarters. Review and redesign the way of working to create the future office.

In the overall design, that typical ‘wholesale sense’ , the identity of Sligro as true food professionals, was safeguarded.

The interpretation of the look & feel of neighbour inspiration lab Zin, and also the Sligro store is visible and tangible in all areas of the office environment.

The office environment stimulates inspiration and interaction between food professionals.

Sustainable design was priority of the new future-oriented headquarters.

Sligro is the leading supplier for food professionals in the Netherlands. "Groot in genieten " (Big on indulgence) is the mission. To make tasty, good and honest food accessible to all Dutch and Belgian food professionals and their customers. Previously, Sligro asked us to translate this mission into the retail formula. After a successful implementation it was the headquarters in Veghel's next step. The same look & feel suited the mission, translated to the office environment with 650 workstations. The challenge was also to review and reshape the way people work to create the future office environment.
Zones identified
The corporate headquarters is located on the premises of the food wholesaler, right next to the Sligro Inspiration Lab, called 'Zin' which is an experience about "the realm of the senses". This look and feel is carried through into the corporate headquarters.

Hybrid collaborative workspaces and focus rooms
The office includes an entrance and reception area with several meeting rooms, two floors of fixed and flexible workstations, hybrid collaborative workspaces in the heart of the department and focus rooms.
Social heart
The 1,200m2 staff restaurant, the office staff and management, for the wholesale store personnel and the distribution center employees. Think: spacious, light, transparent and charming. A large open kitchen, food and drinks. By yourself, with colleagues or with outsiders. Perched at a bar or sitting at a table. Relaxation facilities can be found both inside and in the centrally located patio.
The neutral gray-tinted basic materials in combination with wood emphasize hospitality.

"Worlds" with their own ambiance and activity
The different spatial "worlds" can be seen as areas, whose boundaries are recognizable by their own specific ambiance and activity. This creates a playful routing and layout. The neutral gray-tinted basic materials in combination with wood emphasize hospitality in for example the pantries. Meeting recesses vary in size, function, color and material. Powerful colors and graphics bring identity and sparkle to each small realm within the nearly 17,000 square meters of office space.

The challenge was also to review and reshape the way people work to create the future office environment.
