The casino chain wanted to open a second location in Amsterdam, outside the city center, which would be open 24/7. A casino that is easily accessible by public transport and car, making it attractive for people from outside Amsterdam. The chosen location was the old Telecom building in Amsterdam Sloterdijk, now known as 'The Ven', which also includes a hotel. We have previously been involved in some capacity with all 14 Holland Casino locations.

Holland Casino tasked us with designing a new casino that would remain appealing throughout the week and offer the best possible service to its diverse target groups.
Holland Casino’s goal is to be a continuously attractive entertainment venue. It differentiates itself from competitors by offering innovative game formats, a casino design tailored to various target audiences, and restaurants and bars with an international flair.

Surprised and entertained
There are players who visit casinos to play one or several games, and there are guests who visit casinos to have a fun night out. Players want to see at a glance where they can go to play their preferred game. For this type of customer, navigation and clear signage is key. Guests want to wander around the casino and be surprised and entertained.
Five senses activated
It is important for a casino to create the ultimate gaming environment, taking into account the diverse range of games and activities. Every one of a person's five senses should be activated, which means selecting the right colours, materials and lighting. The design of the new Holland Casino interior serves both target groups and gives them the best gaming experience, both in terms of spatial design and layout. The difference in dynamics throughout the day and over the course of the week has been taken into account.
A dynamic environment for all visitors
We made use of and maximised the architectural features of the former office building to create routes tailored to the two different target groups. The mezzanine floor is divided by a partially glass walkway. Focal points have been placed in the right places to attract visitors and allow players to quickly find their way around the casino. These iconic elements range in size and impact, creating a dynamic environment for all visitors. Take, for instance, the organically shaped, gold-coloured bar in the centre of the casino floor. This eye-catcher instantly attracts visitors entering the casino. The interactive wall allows the casino to dynamically engage their customers depending on the time of the day or day of the week.
In this innovative Holland Casino branch, all design features work together to create a mesmerising environment that invites visitors to play, dine and stay overnight.
