As of October 1, 2021, a new gambling law came into effect in the Netherlands. Licensed companies were allowed to legally offer online casinos and sports betting from that moment on. Holland Casino has such a license and decided to develop an "Online studio" in the casino building in Scheveningen together with Claessens Erdmann.

In the studio, the game is supervised live by real croupiers. Online, players sit down at one of four tables. The interaction in the online studio with real people makes the virtual experience more spatial and personal. At Holland Casino Online, players enjoy a wide range of online gaming in a safe, responsible and transparent way.

The studio is located on the ground floor of the casino in Scheveningen. A transparent glass wall makes the studio an open and visible part of the casino experience, also for the physical visitors. This contributes to the transparency and reliability for online and physical visitors.

our approach

ID's
In the design for the studio, 3 identities melt together: that of the physical Holland Casino environment with its luxury, gold and velvet; the sleek and more graphic identity of the branding online and the characteristics of the seaside resort of Scheveningen.

Interplay of wavy lines
The organic shapes of the nearby natural elements sand and sea have become the central element in the design. Wavy patterns that you see on the beach and in the sea inspired us to use an interplay of wavy lines. An imagery of flow and stream that fits with 'online streaming'. We applied light lines along walls and floor, which continue from the public casino environment into the studio and flow around it. Gold-coloured perforated metal plates slide along the walls around the studio in a similar line pattern. The layered play of lines forms a flowing counterpart to the hard, more technical elements that the studio also houses.

Organic shapes have become the central element in the design.
