An office as a business card for the buyers of yachts

A dynamic and flexible working environment for colleagues

assignment
Feadship Royal Dutch Shipyards, naval architecture and engineering firm designs and builds luxury yachts. Its creative heart is now located in Hoofddorp.

The focus within these headquarters was to design a hospitable welcoming area. In addition, the office area had to facilitate a new way of working for the co-workers. The new office in Hoofddorp really had to become a visiting card for the (mostly international) clientele.
our approach
Water, teak decks and blue skies
The nautical world became the starting point for the design of the interior. From the water, teak decks and blue skies, we chose the colors and materials. Sharp, flowing lines from the design of the yachts are a recognizable element in the design of the furniture, including the counter in the entrance area. An open and friendly counter with behind it a brand wall where the studies model yachts are displayed. Here the international customers are welcomed into the heart of the organization.

Dynamic environment
Directly adjacent to this is the bistro, more than just a lunch spot. A dynamic environment has been created here where people gather to meet throughout the day. The layout and furniture invite this, with both large round tables for (team) discussions and places for concentration or confidentiality in the loom.
Flexible working and cooperation
We created a work environment in which personal contact and flexible work are key. The transition from the public workstations to the individual workstations is made smooth. Departments are grouped together per work floor, where employees work flexibly at desks. With space for meetings around pantries, subtly separated brainstorming areas and closed consultation areas in the heart of the work floor. Different zones that provide alternation between open and closed workstations. This promotes flexible working and cooperation.
Reuse
Furniture was reused and given a new identity. Iconic example is the old large boardroom table that is the shining centerpiece with the new chairs in a surrounding designed.

visit this place?

The nautical environment bridges the gap between dream and reality. From the initial idea for a unique and therefore special yacht, to concrete designs, models and actual construction just a stone's throw from the office. That is what the interior of Feadship radiates on all sides. Ask for a tour in Hoofddorp.
